About us

Who we are

We share the Bible, because the Bible is for everyone. When we read it we discover more about God, more about ourselves and more about the world.

What we’re doing

We translate, produce and distribute the Bible around the world, and support literacy and teaching programmes. At home and abroad, we make it accessible and understood.

Our history

We began in 1804, after the young Mary Jones had to walk 26 miles to buy a Bible. Bible Societies now work in around 240 countries and territories.
